WHERE GIANTS ROAM..
Tembe Elephant Park offers intimate encounters with some of the largest elephants in Africa. The 300km2 reserve, located in Thongaland, is the ancestral home of the Tembe tribe who own and co-manage both the Park and the Tembe Elephant Lodge. Tembe further boast with a vibrant abundance of bird life with nearly 420 recorded species.
Tembe Lodge is made up of several tents, each located for maximum privacy and seclusion,invite guests in with comfy camping chairs on private stoeps, high quality linen and attractive use of natural materials throughout.
Each has its own outdoor shower and “massage/spa” tent alongside which offers serenity and privacy. The public dining and reception areas are located under magnificent soaring thatch and are constructed using natural, sustainably sourced material. Everything has been done to minimise impact on the environment and blend in with the surrounding forest.

Itinerary
Your friendly hosts will be ready to welcome you at the lodge from 12:00. You will have some time to settle into your lovely safari tent before lunch is served at 14:00.
At 15:00 your guide will take you out on an enthusiastically hosted safari in search of the giant tuskers and other members of the big 5.
At sunset you will return back to the lodge for a delicious dinner.
At 6:00am your guide will be ready to take you on an early game drive in search of species on your wish list. These early drives are generally good for finding lion and leopard as they are most likely to be active in the early morning hours.
At 09:00 it is time to head back to the lodge for a divinely prepared brunch. After your feast it is time for a bit of relaxation or you can ask for a transfer to and back from the hide.
At 14:00 it is time for a lunch feast at the boma again followed by your afternoon game drive at 15:00.
Dinner will be served again at 19:00.
At 06:00am your guide will take you out on your last game drive in hope of ticking off the last species on your wish list.
Breakfast will be served on arrival back at the lodge in order to give you some time to freshen up prepare for your journey to your next great adventure.
