Itinerary

Day 1
Day 1

We will meet you in St Lucia at 15:00 where you will have some time to settle into your accommodation before you start your adventure with a 2 hour Sunset Hippo and Crocodile Boat Cruise on the St Lucia estuary.

The St Lucia estuary and lake make up the largest estuarine system in Africa and is home to the biggest hippo and crocodile populations in South Africa.
Your guide on the boat will get you up close and personal with these incredible animals, but in the same time respecting their comfort zones. The tour will be informative and will leave you with understanding regarding the ecology of the system and its resident species.

After your boat cruise you will have time to enjoy dinner at one of the famous restaurants in the main road and enjoy a good comfortable nights rest.

Day 2
Day 2

After an early breakfast your guide will collect you for a nice full day adventure in iSimangaliso’s Eastern Shores.

You will enjoy a game drive with our famous guide Sakhile Dube on route to Cape Vidal resort. Cape Vidal beach is known to be one of the most pristine beaches in South Africa.

Here our marine crew will host you on a 2 hour Snorkeling Adventure in Cape Vidal bay. We start the tour with a safety pre-briefing, hand out equipment and then guide you around in the water for about an hour.

After the snorkeling we return to the dunes where we serve a lovely cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate whilst identifying all our sightings with you in our fish id books. Sightings generally include about 50 different species of fish, octopus, nudibranchs, flatworms, crayfish and sea cucumbers.

After your snorkeling adventure a lovely fire will be ready back in the picnic site where Sakhile will be preparing his magical braai lunch! After lunch its back to safari mode for the journey back to St Lucia.

You will have the late afternoon and evening to relax and enjoy dinner at one of the famous restaurants at your own expense.
We suggest an early night as tomorrow morning will be an early start!

Day 3
Day 3

Your guide will collect you from your accommodation an hour before sunrise and safely transfer you to Hluhluwe Imfolozi game reserve.

Hluhluwe Imfolozi is the oldest game reserve in Africa. It was proclaimed a protected area in 1895 after the discovery of a couple of White Rhinos.
At this stage it was believed that the southern white rhino population was extinct and therefor this amazing discovery led to the proclamation of the reserve and operation white rhino that is probably one of the best conservation
success stories in history! You will be searching for the big 5, elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo.
The park is also home to cheetah, hyena and wild dogs.

The amazing landscape of the park, together with the great abundance of wildlife truly offer some of the best
photographic tours in South Africa.
Breakfast and lunch will be enjoyed inside the park at two of the picnic sites.

At 14:00 we will depart from the park and head back to St Lucia for you to have a bit of rest and an early dinner at one of the restaurants before your guide will collect you for your Chameleon Night Safari.

The night drive will enter the iSimangaliso Wetland Park with the aim of finding you some nocturnal animals that are generally more difficult to find during the daylight hours. Animal sightings include bushbabies, chameleons, hippo, buffalo, leopard, hyena, porcupine, genet, rhino and night birds.

You will be back at your accommodation at 10:30pm for a well deserved rest.

Day 4
Day 4

At 6am you will be meeting our guide at the St Lucia Crocodile centre, only 5 minutes drive from your lodge. From here he will take you into the Eastern Shores of iSimangaliso for a Guided Walking Safari.

Our walking safari’s are conducted in an area with no buffalo, elephant, lion and rhino. Here we will keep you in the moment whilst teaching you some basic skills in tracking animals, the medicinal uses of indigenous plants and we might even taste some edible fruits of the area.

Animal sightings generally include bushbuck, common/red duiker, impala, kudu, waterbuck, warthog, wildebeest, zebra and if very lucky leopard and hyena.

The area is also home to 530 different species of birds. Our knowledgeable guides will do their best to identify as many species as possible and will also try to call some closer for a better look.

After the walk you will have time to freshen up and enjoy breakfast before checking out at 10am to depart for your next adventure location.
